What is of importance is that through this writing, she can remain unknown, yet share her travels with you via the marvelous written word.

For those of you who simply must know more, here’s some background:

The Restless Hermit is a an old lady who thinks she is thirty-five, but can’t possibly be that young, because she has a forty-one year old daughter.

For the past seven years, she has been living on the island of St. John, in the Caribbean, where she quit her job in 2009 and took up the study of creative writing. Since then, she has completed a Certificate in Creative Writing, with Distinction, with an emphasis on Nonfiction, through UCLA Extension
Writer’s Program.

Normally quite content to hole up wherever home is, with her keyboard and resident flora and fauna for company, the hermit does occasionally get itchy feet. At those times, she makes sudden changes of direction. In the spring of 2012, she returned to Midcoast Maine, where she has owned a home for many years.

An invitation to her niece’s wedding in Avignon France, in the summer of that year, kindled in her a restlessness and desire to go walkabout, which in turn was the catalyst for this blog.
